Gong hei fatt choy!I had totally abandoned my blog for 2 weeks. Here's a picture from CNY reunion dinner!

I had attended 9 gatherings in the past 4 days, met friends whom I didn't talked to for years. Well, it was a nice catch up with them. It's only the end of my first week of semester break and yet I'm preparing to go back to uni tomorrow for my room registration and just to look around. Let see how it goes! Hope everything will go well :)

Looking back

When I look at those little cards and letters, it reminds me a lot about past.
It was so easy to write 'forever' but..
when you look back at everything, you will realize that everything changed.
People weren't close to each other anymore, some turn from strangers to best friends.
Some people said 'The people in pictures doesn't change even it reality they do'
That's why pictures are able to capture the happiest moment in life.
It will be tough for us to look back sometimes, knowing that promises and memories have fade.
It's difficult to keep a promise.
Hence, appreciate what you are having now because you will never know what happen next, who will be leaving you or when you are unable to keep your promises anymore.

New year, new resolution

It's the time of the year again!
Year 2011 had been great! Learnt a lot and seen a lot. I wish year 2012 will be greater this time.

1. At least 3 hours worth of exercise per week.
2. Graduate on time!
3. Pay off my study loan.
4. Able to use all the tickets I bought in year 2011.
5. Keep my year 2011 resolution going.
6. Look for more volunteering opportunities and CS experience.
7. Look for another opportunity which will allow me to get out of the country for a long period.
8. Get a dslr/smartphone for real.
9. Save up another 5K worth of travel fund before July 2012.
10. Sleep before 12am every day when I'm in Uni and 11pm at least when I'm at home.
11. Stay healthy.

Year 2011

This is the end of year 2011.
Generally, I think this year is greater than last year (2010). But, time flies once my semester start. Too fast till I can't get hold on it. I did a lot of self discovery this year which changed my perceptive a lot. It started off with my internship where I had S.H.I.T with no workload but very complicated office politics. I'm glad that I was just an observer at that time but I learnt a lot about the real work place from the 4 months drama. I learnt that we should never trust anyone entirely when we were working. People are selfish in their own way and there's no way they will let you block their way to success. They will try their best to get rid of you. FTL. Yes, that's the reality. I sometimes think that maybe I should save up some money and open up my own business so that I don't have to deal with those shitty personality. If I don't like them, I will get rid of them myself. LOL. Year 2011 is the year where I worked super hard during the semester break to finance my travel plans. I actually use my allowance I got from my internship to buy flight tickets. *woot* Work-Travel-Work wasn't easy. I worked the day before I flew to Indonesia and worked the day after I get back to Malaysia. I kept telling myself 'This is for travel fund. This is for travel fund.' and I managed to pull it through. I was very sick when I was working in Dec and I kept telling myself 'This is for grad trip. Yes. grad trip!' In the end, I managed to tahan for 12 hours when my body temperature shot up to 39 degree celcius. Bravo.

Despite that, I signed up for two facilitation opportunities this year. I wanted to relate back what I want to develop and look up for opportunities to be in the organization again. Facilitating was fun and I met lots of great people and we had lots of fun together. But, in the end, I felt empty. I couldn't find the sense of belonging anymore. I guess its time for me to close this chapter and await for the opportunity to start off a new chapter. There's no point linger in the same spot all the time. I had grown out of the role I can play and I need to move on. That's one of the reason why I want to involve more in volunteering work.

In the mid of this year, the thought of closing this site came across my mind. I was going to do it till my friend convinced me to keep it. I started this blog in year 2007 and it had been the platform for me to update my friends about what's happening yada yada. But, I don't really see the relevance in blogging anymore. Hence, I uploaded less pictures and I talked less about myself. ~~I don't want to tell you everything and expose my private life online.~~ I will give this site another few months and decide what should I do with it later. One of the perks of keep it running is the extra money I got from adverts. =) And this site might turn into a travel blog when I officially kick start my trip in Aug 2012.

How can I forget the new families I gained through CS? I truly appreciate the hospitality I got when I was in HCMC and Indonesia. Meeting friends whom I can talk everything with from the moment we met was truly something. ~~Now, I remember the day I went to Angkor Wat with an upset stomach and the time I vomited all the way to the temple. fml~~ I guess if my achievement last year was visiting 'The Great Wall', my achievement this year will be 'I went to Angkor Wat and Borrobudur Temple'. Oh well, more to come next year =)

I guess I better stop here or else I will never stop writing. Have fun everyone!

Review of 2011 resolution

Year 2011 was awesome. In the end of the year, what I remember was - Interning for 4 months, flew a lot during the holiday, worked a lot and lots of assignment during the semester and THE END! *Woot* I don't remember the little details. However, I'm quite proud of myself this year as I achieve something in the end of the year. Let's see.

1. Exercise for at least 3 hours a week. This was carried out without fail from Jan-Sept until I started my semester. So, I will take it as a yes?
~~2. Pick up Japanese language again.~~
~~3. Involve in voluntary work.~~
~~4. Determine my future career path.~~ I'm so not going into Food Science again. At least, its something huh?
~~5. Keep in touch with my three homestay family more often.~~
~~6. Develop all my year 2009 and year 2010 pictures.~~
~~7. Save at least 5K travel fund during semester break.~~
~~8. Save up for smartphone/dslr.~~
~~9. Maintain and reduce current weight.~~
10. Sleep before 12am, best at 11pm. Only from Jan-Sept 2011. I wonder why my semester treat me that bad.
11. I will keep this to myself. =)

Taking for granted.

I heard the most interesting comment earlier. Actually, I got this quite long ago.
People thinks that I'm this or I'm that.
I just laugh at their comments.
Wait a minute. Do you think I really care about what others think about me? Hah. You are so wrong.
Do you think that that little comment will able to take me down? Another LOL.
I actually wrote this at tumblr earlier where I think life is too short to worry about all these nonsense and unimportant people. This post is a longer version of what I had written earlier.
After so many years, I realize that people who fits will stay and people who doesn't fit the puzzle anymore will leave. It happens all the time. When a friend is not a friend anymore, it's like putting your friends into the recycle bin, when someone thinks they suit them, they will take them away. Don't you think so?.
If you want to know, I treat people around me very well and I don't care much about people whom I don't adore. People said, relationship is about giving and taking. So, how about people who enjoyed receiving and never give?
Some people might ask 'why are you so mean?'. Do you want to know why? I realize after so many years that when I treat some people really nice and gave them more than what I can give, all I received was betrayals and people who took me for granted. It makes me feel stupid. I'm a smart girl and I don't enjoy being stupid. I don't want to cry over people who make me sad. Then, I learnt to put on a fake mask on my face. I hide everything from everyone so that they won't hurt me anymore. People start asking 'Why you don't talk much about yourself? Why are you this or that?' Did you see the point? When I talk, you complain, when I stop talking, you complain too. Sometimes, when I wore a mask for a long period of time, I couldn't differentiate between myself and me with the mask. If you are wondering, the next time when I talk to you, perhaps you should start thinking, 'Is it the real her? or is this the mask she put on just to make you happy?' It might surprise you that after you knew me for so long, you are just looking at the cover of the book, but not the content inside.
I have had enough of these situation where I think 'Hey, I don't live for you. I live to make myself happy.' I want to throw away that damn mask. And yet, people judge.Why am I trying so hard to please you/anyone in this world? Then, I told myself not to give so much and stay far away to prevent the same thing from happening again. I hate it when people are taking me for granted and took everything away from me. I stop giving. The incident today has reminded me about the same f. situation. I remember how hard I tried not to get hurt. I want to be happy. I remember my friend once told me 'When people start taking you for granted, treat them like business. They will only get what they paid for.'
I don't care what you think of me because I have more important things/people to care of. Those little comment of yours doesn't matter. Life is too short.
Oh wait, before you comment, have a good look at yourself. If you are no better than me/worst than me, please do something first before you start commenting on others. Oh wait. Are you calling/telling someone that 'You know what? She wrote this post about......' Gotcha! Have a good look at yourself before talking about others. Karma is a bitch, don't you think so? =)

p/s: If someone is taking you for granted, leave them. You deserve better =)

Final Sprint

This had been one of the most interesting weekend ever.
Birthday party, family gatherings, meeting up with friends and assignments!
Fyi, it's the last two weeks of the semester! *wooot* I have no idea what happened in the past 12 weeks.
Week 13 is not something I'm looking forward to.
I'm going to have 2 presentation, 3 submission, oral test and I'm going to get back my exam paper for my language courses.
I guess everything will end well in Wednesday I hope. I will mark the end of my major courses and fully concentrate on my language courses. Yes, I will be having 2 exams next week.Nop, I'm not complaining.
3 weeks till year 2012. Have you review your new year resolution? I'm going to do a review on mine too. I think I did pretty well this year. =)

Cherish your life

Do you know how fortunate you are to being able to do what you want at this time?
Do you know how fortunate you are to being able to attend school/university/college?
Do you know how fortunate you are to being able to rant about your stupid workload while others don't have a chance to do so?
Do you know how fortunate you are to being able to jump around/shout whenever you want?
Do you know how fortunate you are to being able to complain about how shitty your life is when someone wants to live like how you would lived your life?
Some people might want to achieve something big in their life but they didn't have an opportunity to do so.
Some people might want to get access to tertiary education but they couldn't afford it at all.
Some people don't mind have your version of shitty life as long as they get food, shelter and clothes.
There's so many things which we want to do in our life. So many things which we think that it will be better in 'THIS' way or 'THAT' way for us. Hence, we complain because what we have is so imperfect for us. But, do you know that these are the things that someone are dying to have it if they have the opportunity as you. We are selfish human beings. Well, very greedy as well. We want something which is better for us, not holding on something we already have and work on it.
But, do you know that someone in this world has a better opportunity than you but him/her didn't get to reach the end of his/her goal. Things happened. I mean bad incident.
I heard about a student who got killed in a accident last weekend. He was a very bright student with a very bright future. But, God took him away.
This incident makes me ponder. Anything can happen to anyone in this world. I won't say stuff like 'I want to do 'this' or 'that' after I retire.' Planning 40 years ahead is so unrealistic. Planning 10 years ahead might be unrealistic to some people who knew that they couldn't live so long.
The only you thing which you can do is cherish what you want and work on what you already have. Don't look at something you want to have, work on what you already have and makes it better. Don't be greedy. Do whatever you can and when time comes, you won't say 'Damn. I should have done that instead.'
Cherish everyone beside you and the moment which you are having now.

I volunteered myself yesterday at 'The Red Carnival'. It was a great experience as I learn and gain new knowledge and get to ponder a lot. Basically, my role is asking for donation from the public which is very similar for what I did in my secondary school for 5 years. This is much easier as we have very short working hours. Yes, we don't get paid but they offer us lunch. One man came up to us and asked if we were paid and he was surprise that we didn't. The conversation went like this.Man: Can I ask you girls a silly question?Us: Yes, you may.Man: Are you people gays/lesbians? Us: Errr no. We are not. Man: Ohhh. thank god. I was worried that you girls are lesbian since all of you volunteered for this event. But if you are not, why are you here?Us: We just want to help out. Hello uncle? Why are you judging us like that? Why is everyone looking at the surface only? The event wasn't about sexuality. It's about creating awareness about HIV/AIDS. They should be happy that someone is actually doing it since the numbers is soaring in our country. I think it's the mindset of our community and we need do something about this. When we were asking for donation, some people just walk pass and ignore us. Hello? Even your one hour parking fee at Sg Wang cost a lot more than that. People should at least acknowledge. Despite the unhappy encounter, everything was good. We actually told the man not to judge the people. We are not there because of who we are, we were there because of what we want to do. I'm glad that I've learn more about the community and I know that I will be helping out again next year if I'm around. Last but not least,a picture of us from the event!

总觉得每一趟旅行就像谈一场恋爱。
一开始爱上了那个地方，那里的一切。
把心交了出去。
但是，结束了就觉得心里总是遗失了些什么。
想找回，但需要更大的勇气。
最近看了篇网志，那个女孩用了六个月的时间，走遍了欧洲。
她只带了300 欧元，其他的旅费也是自己挣的。
这个故事让我觉醒。路是人走出来的。
谁说有钱才能实现梦想。谁说有钱才能好好去玩。
所以，我做了一个决定。
我决定回去寻找我那颗遗失的心。

我只要把我的梦想实现，开开心心地过日子就可以了。没有遗憾就好。

It's h-o-l-i-d-a-y!
Well, not really a holiday. It's actually stay-at-home-for-studying-and-assignment-week. Phewww
There's only 6 weeks left after this mid sem break. something I'm so not looking forward to it. There's 4 exams and a few submissions waiting for me. Not forget to mention about my lab sessions. Sigh. I wonder if I can start my lab by this semester which I need to do so or else I will get stuck. #fml If you don't know, I'm going to create a new fishball which contain seaweed products. Not the original green colour seaweed which you can get from supermarket. The seaweed suppose to alter the texture of the fishball and make it taste better (better texture and mouthfeel). But the problem is that I couldn't allocate the two most important ingredients. *criessss* There's a series of test which I have to do before this semester ends or else you will see me for another year in UKM. ~~TOUCH WOOD~~ If this happens, I will apply for the one semester exchange programme in South Korea next year. *touch wood touch wood* I must grad on time. I don't know what others think if I were to graduate with my sister. *touch wood* ~~This plan B have to go away, far awayyyyy~~ No matter how, I must and I will get the source asap. I don't want to spend another year in UKM. I had been through so many obstacles to get this far. You have no idea the total hiccups which happened along the way which can patahkan my semangat just like that. wtf. I'm glad that I have a supervisor who gave me suggestions and solve my issue when I'm in the most critical situation.

Nine more months till I get out of this field forever. My examiner actually suggested me to go for Master programme in the same field. There's no way I'm going to go through the whole miserable thing again.I just want to pack my bags and travel.

I think I've pass through the period where I want to take pictures and keep it as memory. I went to this conference last weekend and I didn't take any pictures at all. Perhaps it is because there's too many dslr around and my canon ixus look so unprofessional there. And the best thing is I get to play with both canon and nikon at the same time and I think I made my decision on which brand to buy. I think there's no point arguing which is the best. They are equally good in their own way. The most important thing is that I feel comfortable with it. :)Here's some pics and it is related to the post I mentioned earlier.

Last weekend

It was back in August if I'm not mistaken. I saw this opportunity and I grabbed it without thinking much. ~~Perhaps I knew that I will be bored with my semester especially when almost everyone I knew had graduate.~~ Although I was busy juggling between studies and preparation but I didn't regret at all. Thanks to my considerate team mates and friends. I'm glad that I made the right decisions. I met friends whom I knew last semester break and laughed as hard as I could throughout the weekend. I forgot the last time I had so much fun. I forgot the last time I had that energy in me. I guess the only sad thing is that we didn't really get to talk much as we were very busy with our own sessions and work. Another thing is I didn't get to know any juniors from the same uni as me as I was in a different track and I didn't get to talk to anyone.
One of my friend ask 'Is this really your last activity?' Oh well, even me, myself couldn't give myself a concrete answer. I'm not sure but if time permits, I want to have more exposure before I graduate.*wink(

It's November already! Omigosh. That indicates that there's only two months left till year 2012. Two more months till I review my new year resolution. I done 4 of them for sure. I guess it's time to buck up! November, please be good to me. Don't try to be as nasty as October. Errrr wait. How can November be good when there's 4 mid term exam right after the holiday? Sigh. Why am I getting the 'fml' feeling so often lately?

Yes. You got it right! It's weekend again. This weekend seems appealing after four days of nightmare at uni. yes nightmares. There's a lot to tell but I'm not sure where to begin. One of the lecturer threw me a few question about my fyp yesterday and I'm glad that I manage to survive. Or else I'm doomed. I must chant 'I believe in what I'm doing and I'm doing the right thing' all year long until I pass up the green book next year. Today is a great day!

I remember my seniors once told me that final year should be free and easy. I start to imagine how easy life is after I learned that during my third year. I start to think how should I make my life more interesting and meaningful when I have nothing to do at all. We will only have few classes per week and we are suppose to have more fun before graduation! It's like the most ideal situation! How awesome can that be?
However,final year is not how I imagined it should be from the start of the semester. Every lecturers expect us to be very free and gave us tonnes of tough assignments. If everyone requires us to write a mini thesis, we will end up writing a whole thesis ourselves by the end of the semester.
Talking about classes. Yes, I can have less class if I don't sign up for language classes. I mean two language classes. I'm not complaining because if I can do well in these two languages, I can pull my CGPA score higher. That's the idea. Besides learning a new language, I can do something good for my academic good. That's the glamour side of learning languages. But when I see it from another perspective, taking language classes means I have lesser time for my thesis preparation, it also means that I need to spend more time on memorizing the grammar and vocabulary. Not forgetting sitting for extra papers too. When I first pondering if I should take it or leave it, I questioned myself. If I can survived 27 credit hours with so many co-curriculum activities, how can I not survived 20 credit hours with a thesis? (I think I'm quite naive about that)
The result of it? I have a draft to submit on Thursday and I have done nothing about it. I have a conference to facilitate in the end of the month and everything is still in planning state. Plus, I'm going to sit for two midsem exam next week. Every time when I leave my home for Uni, I felt a sense of depression in my heart. I seriously think that Monday is the worst day of the week and Thursday marks the end of everything.
p/s: I'm sorry if I complained to much but if I don't blog soon, you guys will be disappointed with a-not-updated-blog. Plus, I need to remind myself why I chose to do so many things in this semester compared to being a laid back person.
I will do a proper post soon. Maybe travelogues. =)

The weekend.

How I wish that I will complete my task every weekend when I'm home.
But I just couldn't gather myself to do it.
By the end of Sunday, I will stare at the never-complete-to-do-list.
This weekend will be slightly different as I only have a few task in the list.
1. Memorize my thai vocabs and grammar.(Did only half of the chapter)
2. Memorize my Jap vocabs.(Nil)
3. Wrap my new book. (Almost there as I couldn't find the wrapper)

Anger. Frustration

I was at the college office the other day.
I think it was my 90248293843 times there asking the same question all over again.
"Why on earth am I still not registered as a resident of my college?".
I couldn't access to the internet with my own ID and password at all.
They gave me the same stupid reason every time.-There's problem with the computer system.
They charged me for all the accommodation fee and still I'm not registered as a member yet?
How can the uni charge me for staying in the dorm when my status showed that I lived outside the campus?
It doesn't make sense right?
It was very difficult to control my emotion. I wanted to scold the staff so badly and yet I know that I'm screwed if I did that.
Anger turned to frustration at that time and I knew that I can no longer hold my emotions anymore.
I felt the tears on my cheek.

2. Traveled to 5 countries in 3 months.
3. Shot with Canon 1D.
4. Made friends from different countries.
5. Traveled 45 minutes to the beach by motorbike. (90 minutes in total)
6. Did couch surfing and fall in love with it!
7. Met crazy people who changed my perspective a lot.
8. Met friends I met in Dalian.
9. Facilitated a conference.

Phewwwww. I've finally reach the last day of our Bangkok Trip.
Do you know that I have a new outfit already? What? You don't know about that? Read here pleaseeee.

Okay..I better not run away from the topic. I shall focus. I'm a procrastinating bear. Did you read my previous post? How can you missed that? You can find them here, here and here.
We wanted to be in the floating market on the fourth day of our trip. Jiejie did her research and she found that there's this hidden floating market in Bangkok which is very famous among the locals. It's called Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. The place was introduced by the local.
But when we ask for the common name for the place, most of the people don't know anything about it. fol
Then, a CSer told jiejie that the common name for the place is 'Bang Khun Thien' Floating Market, which was a mistake. :( BKT actually meant 'Wat Sai Floating Market'. sigh
We took a taxi there.
There's a lot of stalls before the river but they didn't take a look at them because they were super hungry. I don't need food anyway. *shrug*

The problem of going to a local floating market is that the vendors doesn't speak Thai language. Hoho. Luckily jiejie actually brush up her thai language.And there's an aunty who can speak mandarin. She became our translator in the market. hehee..

After our breakfast, we can't wait to explore the floating market. Unfortunately, we were conned by the boatmen. Not only he charge us at a high price. He didn't bring us to the real floating market. stupid uncle ! He only want to bring us to those crocodile farm where he can earn some commission. Who needs to be in Crocodile farm when we have it in our country. *curse that stupid boatmen*How I wish I'm a bigger bear.

I didn't realize that my holiday is a marathon race until recently.
I got a job offer for next two weekend but I couldn't take it anymore. My body need some rest before the nightmare starts. =)
That's explain my impromptu plan for next week. I think I need to settle down before Sept or else I don't know what happen when the semester starts.
When I was editing my pictures for my photobook, I realize that there's many potential shots from Jogja. I can't wait to share it with all of you.
My life is not that interesting lately as it's about sleep-eat-pps-sleep. I guess I need to get my life back.

Hi everyone!
Do you miss me? lol
It's my day 5 in Indonesia !
Things had been great so far. I met lots of nice people here. Traveling with the locals is so much fun ! Bandung and Jogja are great! We ate cheese Indomie in Bandung and it is definitely different from what we have back home. I didn't feel that I'm in a other country on the first few days. But since I'm in Jogja now, I'm traveling a lot. like a tourist. Borobudur was amazing. Prambanan was so-so. I think it is because I had seen Angkor Wat earlier so this is not a surprise for me anymore. My host are great! I had been experience lots of local lifestyle because of them. I learn how to play Gamelan yesterday! I'm grateful that my teacher was patient because I nearly ruin the songs. hahaha.

Seven more days to go.

以前的我总认为毕业后找工作赚钱是最重要的，但现在却不一样了。
可能是他们所说的，在不同的阶段，我们看重的东西都会不一样吧。
有时候看多了，不知道是好事还是坏事。
我个人认为当一个人厌倦了现在的环境，他是时候出去走走，看看外面的世界是怎样的。看多了，思想就会不同了。
有时候走出自己的comfort zone, 和不同的人聊天，交流，会学到截然不同的知识。
但是，有时候走多了，看多了，自己就会变得很迷茫。
现在，我觉得开心过日子是最重要的。
哪怕哪一天我倒下了，我会对自己说“我对我之前所做的决定从来没有后悔过。”

It's good to see people I thought I will not see them in near future since the last time we parted.
The first two pictures were stolen from fb because I'm very lazy to take pictures lately. Sorry for the bad resolution :(

However, I'm lucky to have friends to visit me in KL. I'm glad that we are making efforts to make things happen despite how busy we were.

We are actually from four different countries. =)

The super buddy dropped by in KL for 3 days so that we can meet up.

The next meet up will be with the Dalian family in July-Aug. I can't wait to see WK in Bandung and G in Malaysia.

I remember K told me that she will never write 'see you again' because the chances to meet each other again is very low. She said we might meet once and we will never get to see each other again. I can't help but to agree with her. Let's not talk about friends living in the same region. Let's think about someone who lives on the other side of the world. My friends who lives on the other side of the world asked me to visit them next instead of going to other countries. God knows when I'm able to afford a trip there. But, I'm on my way. =)

I believe that when I say 'I will see you again', We will meet one day. It's only the matter of time.

Things changes according to time. It might be just physical appearance or relationship between one human and another or the opportunities which was given to you. It's a circle that goes on and on.

I turned down an opportunity yesterday. I don't know if I had made the right choice. I thought that I can still do it but I couldn't continue anymore. I'm not sure if I had made the best decision for myself. But since I closed the door, I will make my decision right even those it is wrong. I'm waiting to open the next right door.

I'm getting more hardworking now because I have 10 days worth of trips waiting for me to write. Can you please stab me right naooooo? Why can't I just live like a normal stuffed toy?
It's our day three in Bangkok and it's Saturday!
Yesss! How can we miss the famous Chatukchak Weekend market?
If you are going to book a ticket to Bkk, make sure that you will travel during the weekends because you can't afford to miss this. If you had never been to Chatukchak, you had never been to Bkk! As simple as that =)
We took bus No.3 or No. 9 from KS Road to Chatukchak. The cost is 12 Bath. Or you can take the BTS train to Mo Chit Station.

Don't ask me where to get down. It was the last station I think. You just need to constantly check with the ticket conductor. =)
Since Chatukchak only start at 10am, we went to Ow Tor Kor which is located near Chatukchak market. You might wonder what is Ow Tor Kor? It is one of the wet markets in Bangkok. We love visiting local market to observe the daily life of the locals. And food too! Too bad a bear can't eat in the market.
Jie jie doesn't know the exact location of this market. But, it is located next to Chatukchak weekend market. She just ask 'Where is Ow Tor Kor?' all the way and the local just direct her to the right place. It is located near a subway station if I'm not mistaken.

From the main entrance, you just need to keep walking until you see food! Lots of them. *droooool*
Can you see those red color sauce? It's curry and cocobear doesn't like them although they look like honey. blehhh

All my travel mates thinks that Ow Tor Kor is the right place to have breakfast. I guess I have to second them!

After lunch, they proceed to Chatukchak Market for shopping! That place is a heaven for everyone! I heard some uncles saying that they spent their whole fortune in the market. Hik hik. That was so funny. Basically it is a place for both genders because they sell everything there. Shirts, shoes, house ware, pets, decos, souvenirs and etc. You don't need to go other place to shop when you are in the market.
Jie jie say she miss the RM10 leather bag, the RM5 t-shirts and RM10 shorts. I think she will never shop in KL again if she know that she's paying triple price for the same stuff. =D

I'm glad that I don't have money or else I need to declare bankruptcy too.

They don't have much pictures on Chatukchak because they were busy shopping. Me, the only available bear doesn't know how to operate the camera either. Sigh

Heya! It's me -Cocobear again. Phew, I think I need a more macho name. Coco sounds so lady. :(
I'm here to blog about our day 2 in Bangkok. I just came back from a 9 days trip and it was super fun! Much to my type of adventure. I'm macho and I love to do adventurous stuff.

We walk to N13 pier near Khao San Road after breakfast. It is known as Phra Arthit. We took the boat and stop at N9.

There's a tourist information booth after you walk out of N9. According to them, its better to visit GP first then turn left and the exit and walk to Wat Pho instead of turning right to Wat Pho.

The entrance fee to GP is 350 Bath(They will stop selling ticket at 3pm but the palace open till 5pm/530pm) The ticket consist of entrance to Grand Palace, Dusit Palace(far from GP) and the museum inside GP but you have to use it within 7 days. The dress code is very strict~~although I went in naked~~ (I'm a bear and I don't wear clothes)They will lend you sarongs and proper top with a deposit. You can get back the money after you return the attire.

Tips: Get the free guide from GP at 10am, 1030am, 130pm and 2pm. The guide will explain all the basic things that you need to know about the place. Their guide, Mr Tuy is very nice and I had learnt a lot from him. ~~when I was hiding inside the backpack of course~~

I was so tired after walking under the big hot sun.

After visiting the museum(It was included in the ticket earlier), we spot a shop which allow us to send postcard oversea! yayyy for me.

I enjoyed being a postman. Luckily everyone got their postcard already =)

After Grand Palace, jie jie and her friends decided not to do any tourist attraction anymore because they couldn't stand the hot weather. We took a cab to Chinatown instead! Yes for my tummy! They paid 80 bath for the fare but you can choose to take bus 53 or take the boat to N5.

You must go to Chinatown for food. There's lots of snack there. You won't regret for sure. Now, I understand why my tummy grew bigger when I get to travel more :(

They went to Pratunam area after lunch. Chinatown is good for those who like to buy in bulk, the same goes to Pratunam market. You will get wholesale price when you buy three piece together. I didn't do any shopping because they don't sell clothes to bear. I should open a shop there in the future and I believe that I can earn a lot from the locals. $_$

Jie jie and her friends went to Patpong night market after their dinner. I thought it was a normal night market. I was right because it look exactly like Petaling Street. But, the night market is located in front of the red light district. *cover eyes with hand* They actually offer menus for sex show. *cover eyes with both hand* And they have shops with different theme/girls with different uniforms for different customers. Too much for an innocent bear like me. @.@

Two months

The past two months had been a crazy roller coaster ride. I was packed with schelude without any rest. I can only remember the important parts, work-travel-work-faci-travel. Every single day was filled with excitement and something new.
I think the one which affects me the most is the recent trip to S21 Genocide Museum.
I remember walking through the blocks early in the morning. It was windy and I had goosebumps when I first step into the place and walking through the blocks.
I saw the pictures on the wall and the biography written by survivors from the Khmer Rouge Era. I learnt a lot about their history and how the past lead to the current situation in the country - The clear line between the rich and the poor.

I met the poor people who live at the countryside.
I saw those innocent eyes of the little girl who sat in front of me in the bus.
I met the little boy who cling on my friend so that she can give him money to buy milk.
I met those children who were so desperate in selling souvenirs to the tourist.
I met the rich kids who dine in a fancy restaurant with the latest technology in their hand.
I met those women who wandered around the street, trying to look for potential customers.
I met desperate TukTuk drivers who tries to get customers on the street.
I met those vendors who tried to rip us off and yet they told us that they gave us the cheapest price because we are chinese.
I met the guy who told me that his family almost got killed by the army and was saved by a simple letter.

These make me think a lot.

I'm glad that I did this trip.

I start to see things from a different perspective.

A very dramatic day to remember.
First I vomited three times in the morning before departing for Angkor Wat.
I couldn't eat any food at all. Just a can of sprite and a coconut drink for the whole day.
I had fever after taking an hour nap.
Now, I'm feeling better.
Last day in Cambodia!
I will be back tomorrow.

Hey friends!
I'm in Saigon now and everything is fine here.
People are nice despite of the language barrier. This doesn't include those people who tried to cheat us though. damn those motor riders. HCMC is different from KL and Bangkok. The food, the culture and etc. I can still find people who speak cantonese language and chinese language here. I couldn't learn a single vietnamese language because it is too difficult. :( The food here is quite sweet compared to Malaysia. There's a lot of few odd vegetable and way of eating. I'm going to PP tomorrow ! I'm looking forward to the next 5 days and going back to Malaysia again :)

I'm back. I'm back.
Phew..Johor's weather is much better compared to NS.
The past 6 days was very tiring but it was a fruitful journey. New friends, new experience and a new journey.
By the way, I was facilitating a environment based conference in JB. The target group was secondary school students.
I think the most rewarding part of the conference is when I see my group member who doesn't talk to each other at all on the first day became close friends in the end of the conference. You have no idea how hard is it to make them talk to each other. I've tried different approach but it couldn't work at all. :( Things improved. I saw them talking to each other, doing planning together and expressing interest in the activities given. Phew..I felt relieved. :) And I felt touched when they wrote 'Thank You' in the sugar cube.
To all facis, I had so much fun with all of you. I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard for so many days. Hope that we can meet somewhere in the corner of this world soon!

I will remember India & China..Opps. and The Philipines too. =)

I'm Cocobear, jie jie's travel partner when she was at China and HK. Since jie jie's going to write about Bangkok from a girl's perspective here, then I will write about Bangkok from a bear's perspective. hehe..
I'm so happy because I get to travel Southeast Asia this year ~~so that I don't have to be trap in the house anymore~~
It was a lovely morning when she drag me out of the bed and keep me in her backpack.

We arrived at LCCT very early in the morning because daddy has to go to work and we were lazy to take the public transport with all our luggage. Blehhhh. We had breakfast at McD. Xy jie jie said I can't complaint much because I'm not paying a single cent for this trip. =P

Me with their boarding pass. We had a few hours to kill before our boarding time. It was a long wait.

I helped them in writing their departure card once we got them from the air stewardess.

After two hours on the flight, Bangkok welcomed us with the big sunny weather! Unfortunately, I can only stay in the backpack because I smuggle into the country illegally without a proper travelling document. Hence, I need to stay inside the backpack all the time. The weather at Bangkok was very hot. I feel like removing the fur from my skin and I wish that I was a furless bear :(

The two jie jie met up with their friends and took a taxi to their hostel. The taxi fare cost around 300 Bath to the hostel. Yes, they stayed at Lamphu Guest House which is one street away from Khao San road. It was pretty quite at night so that they can rest well.

Ohhhh..this is their first room at Bangkok. Due to the very hot weather, they can't bear to stay in this room on the first night. The room cost 400B per night for a fan room. The room was very clean and comfortable despite the bad air circulation. They had to share bathroom too. The bathroom at Lamphu house was different from what we had in China. The men and women shared the same bathroom. So, it is common to see a guy peeing at the cubicle next to you while you are brushing your teeth. The cubicle was doorless k? ~~close eyes~~

After they refresh themselves, they took another taxi to Siam Center(75 Bath). Our first stop was MBK where we took our lunch.

At MBK, you can claim your free ice tea from the food court. I took a sip and thought that it was too sweet for my liking. I prefer my honey better. We didn't dined in there because it was too expensive and all the food served were western cuisine instead of authentic thai food.

We visited Jim Thompson House which is located near Siam Center. We took the map with the picture of Jim Thompson House and pointed it to the locals to ask for directions. Since they can't understand english, we had to use hand gesture instead. They paid 50 Bath for admission because they were all students and below 25 y.o. Of course, I went in for free. =D

We were not allowed to take pictures inside the house. Hence, we can only take pictures outside the house. They provide free guides too for detailed explainations of the house.

From there, we walked to Bangkok Art and Cultural Center. It is a must visit place for those who love arts. They had exhibitions and some interesting cafes inside. We love the environment inside there. The students there look so korean.

The architecture students were having some exhibition on buildings built on different concept. I wish I understood what they were trying to tell. Being a bear, I know that I need to take pictures with the buildings model. I'm glad that I can find something of my size.

It starteed raining when we came out from the center. We took the over head bridge and walked to Siam Paragon instead. Jie jie was looking for the Naraya flagship store. They spent almost one hour inside there and I almost fall asleep inside the backpack.

They actually went beyond their budget at Naraya. There were so many beautiful dresses and blouse at the street near Siam Center. However, they didn't stop by because they will be going to those wholesale place on the next two days. Xy jie jie were saying that she regretted not buying the flats from there. I think Siam Center is a good place to get korean style clothing and accessories.

Later at night, they took the tuktuk back to KhaoSan Road. They paid 80 Bath for the ride. Not that bad huh?

They spent the night walking through Khao San Road and getting know some backpackers there.

Day One was pretty tiring.
I woke up around 5 something as my dad want to send us to the airport before work. We stayed at LCCT and waited hours for our 1130am flight. We checked into our guest house around 3pm and head straight to Siam Square for lunch. We couldn't find any decent local thai food there and got stuck with some fusion food. The price of the food wasn't as cheap as expected though. When I walk through the streets and the shops, I truly believe that what people said about Bangkok. It is a shopping paradise and the budget is limited all the time. Shirts and dresses are very cheap here. Even the taiwan people come here to shop! People here are nice too. It is hard to travel a country without knowing their language. All we did was pointing at the map and ask for location instead. lol
However, we manage to live through our first day without any scam.
We will be going to the main tourist attraction tomorrow. It's gonna be a lot of walking.
Will do proper post when I'm back to Malaysia. :)

To start a new chapter of life. I'm done with my 4 months industrial training yesterday. I learnt a lot from the company. The presentation ends well as we were praised by the GM and President.Wheeee...
Below is the picture of our supervisor. We are very close to her as we go lunch together every day and we enter the company at almost the same time.

I didn't get to say goodbye to the workers and the staff, which I regret for not doing it properly. But, I believe that we will meet again soon since I will be back to that area on friday. =)

Yes yes! This is already the final week of April and I'm so looking forward to May. But, I started to get depress when I look at my calender as displayed below. Literally, I only have 6 days of holiday next month. ~~Why am I so smart?~~

My plans for the next four month makes me feel as if I want to fit everything into that period of time because I'm afraid that I won't have the opportunity to do it in the future. ~~It must be the 2012 pressure~~

I spent the whole Saturday with my high school friends. I went for baking "class" after work and it was fun because we manage to turn our unsuccessful product into successful one. We did carrot cake, cheese fruit tart and pancake instead of carrot cake, muffins and cream puff as planned earlier. It was an intense 6 hours "class" but we definitely enjoyed it =)

And celebrated jia's birthday at A&W where we attracted unnecessary attentions from the others.Can you see jia's 32 23 y.o candles ?Her cake looks beautiful right? right?

Two weeks left ! Can't wait to kick start the 5th month of the year! :)

You see the card above? It's 15th April today. That means 2 more weeks till my internship end! Wheeee...It doesn't end here because I found a job which requires me to work from 6th -19th of May and I will leaving the country on 19th of May ! This is madness wey. The best thing is my internship ends on 3rd of May, which means I will only have 2 days of freedom. :( I have no idea on how to choose between travel fund and freedom.
I'm currently doing my internship report for my university and I find it difficult to convey my ideas into words. fml because our uni supervisor might use the report to grade us.

p/s: There's so many opportunities/things to do in May-Sept period and I have trouble in deciding which is the best for me. Should I just apply for all of them and decide later when I recieve their reply? Or should I consider it properly before sending in my application? How does another internship at different field sounds to you? Hmmmmm.

Today is a happy day because the trainee's favourite worker is back! He was suppose to go back to his home country two weeks ago. But today, when I was cutting the cheese, I saw the familiar sanitizer bottle and when I look up, I saw the familiar face again. Everyone was surprise to see him again. It ended up that he's going to stay for another two weeks. lol.

Me, the other intern and my supervisor were cutting cheese and one of the worker actually ask for me from far. My supervisor was wondering why is the worker looking for me instead of her. I was curious too. When I ask him the reason, he actually said 'It's already 5pm, go home!' I went =.='''''

The people there are getting easier to work with and I have a feeling that I'm going to miss most of them soon.

I'm happy today, despite the numb thumb.

D85- I did sensory test

Yeap! I did sensory evaluation on their new product and gave comments yesterday. They are going to develop a series of ready to eat meal for Malaysian market. It is very popular in most country but not in Malaysia.

We were given a new case study on wednesday where we need to make sure half batch (350kg) of the chicken meat is within the specs(55-70g). We went in to the production site and start weighing the chicken at around 820am and we took 4 hours to complete half batch. Imagine the initial target was one batch of chicken which is 700kg of chicken meat. Actually we could have save all these trouble if the primary production site personnel did everything properly. They didn't weigh the chicken according to the required specs. That's why the four of us need to do everything all over again. However, we didn't manage to get the result because they will only run our chicken for the last batch which is at night. :(

Besides the case study, I'm still developing SOP and WI. The progress is very slow because the-person-everyone-is-afraid-of(some people even call her hantu) is always at the production site lately. She said that we shouldn't be taking pictures of the production site because it is violating the P&C etc. She will go on and on with her own assumption. Everyone in the production site hates her. Ugghh. I will only bring the camera in for SOP purpose. I'm not interested with all the equipments and set up at all. Remember the colleague I mentioned earlier? She took her camera in and took pictures and videos of every single equipment inside. When I ask her if she's going to develop the SOP for that particular machine, she didn't really answer my question. And she nearly get us in trouble on wednesday when she was taking video of the machine and the hantu pass by. Sigh..Sometimes it is not that good to be brave. lol

If the end of the world is coming..

I read from the newspaper yesterday that some religion is US has predicted that 21/5/2011 is the end of the world. My reaction was @.@ because I won't be at Malaysia that time. Then, I start to ponder. What if all the predictions were true? What if we will all die on Dec 2012?

I quote one of my friend 'there is a verse from Bible, nation will rise against nation..kingdom against kingdom(Eg: Libya).There will be great earthquakes(Eg: NZ,China& Japan),famines and pestilences in various places and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

I have a few thoughts on my mind now.

1. Not to work until year 2012 is over. I just told my parents about this idea and they seems cool with it. I'm graduating around Aug 2012 or maybe later depending on the academic calender. There's only 4 months gap between my graduation day and the end of the world. It might sound a bit irresponsible but I have plans to make sure that I can support myself financially throughout the 4 months.
2. Fullfill the promise which I made 7 years ago? Yeapppp.
3. Make correct decision or make the wrong decision right.
4. Graduate on time!
5. Secure a job by December and start everything fresh on year 2013 if the world hasn't collapse. lol
6. And spend more time with the family which is what I'm doing currently. <3

WL was saying that she wants to get married instead! hahaha. that will be fun.

So, what are you going to do in the next one and half year before the world collapse?

D68- Why so serious?

It had been two months since I last blog about my internship. Glad that I had survived more than two months there. Guess what I did today? I taught the workers how to pose for pictures which is going to use for SOP and WI. Glad that they are getting more and more friendly as time goes by. When they are good to you, they tend to bully and play with you more. Some of them came to work when they were 16 years old. and At least going to work doesn't seem as boring as it was earlier. Yes! Because I'm willingly to go inside the site at 8am and come out at 5pm. I received a <s>I-don't-know-how-should-I-respond comment from the other intern from fpp.</s> I was asking her if we should take another picture of the process to show more detailed steps. Do you know how she answered me? She said 'Why are you so serious about the assignment given?' I was like are you kidding me? It is an assignment given to me and I just want to do my best. And now you are asking why am I so serious about it? Besides that, we are talking about SOP. People are suppose to understand all the procedures by just reading it.

P/s: Since I'm able to use camera inside, perhaps I can show you some pictures soon as long as it is not P&C. :)

When a old friend contact you

Have you suddenly got a text message or phone call from someone whom you knew for years but you never keep in touch? When it happens to me, my first reaction is 'Why is this people calling me/text me?'

There's always a few reason.
1. Your friend is involve in multi level marketing and he/she want to recruit you as a team member.
2. He/She is selling a product/service and see the potential in you becoming his/her's customer.
3. He/She needs help in certain issue and want to seek for your help.
4. He/She has financial difficulties and would like to ask for your financial assistance.

I think reason 1 and 2 is pretty annoying especially when the conversation start with 'hello, how have you been doing latelty?' to 'Do you have a time? Can we meet up for a drink?'. Then, one mentor will appear and start explaining the advantage of their products and try to recruit you as their member/customer. That means you will be spending 1-2 hour listening to details which you are not interested in at all. fyl. I never like MLM. Some people told me earlier that what they were doing is not the usual pyramid version, but binary version.So, they are not sucking your money. To me, it is still the same as you will still take money from every member whom you had recruited. I think they somehow manage to convince themselves that they are doing the right thing. Oh well. Hence, when a old friend contacts you, think twice before answering the message/phone call. lol

I drove to the town today just to find inspiration.
I couldn't remember the last time I walk alone on the familiar street without a purpose.
I took my camera out and snaps scene that I really like.
I drove through the back lane and observe what's in there.
I came to realize that there's a lot of small mamak shop behind the back lane of Seremban town.
There's a place called 'Happy Nasi Lemak' which I never notice it before.
The town is very quite on Sunday morning unless you are near to the market.
I wanted to go to the market but I gave up.
I went to the lake garden and had waffle instead.
It's good to spend quality time with myself.
The last time I did that was last year.
The last time I wonder around the street, simply want to explore the place and see more for myself.
I want to do it again, not only in this town.

D47-I hate maths and graphs :(

I received a new task last week which requires me to do lots of calculation and come out with graphs for the ISO audit. I had spent days amending the report because every time after I finish my task, they will request me to add more detail and data. Yeah..working here is all about details. I have another task which is to discover the lost yield of the chill product. What we did is to weigh the product at every process to find out what's the cause of it. Unfortunately the case study somehow failed because the night shift people didn't get the data for the last few steps. fol.

The workers here are getting more and more friendly and approachable. Sometimes, its weird to see them chasing each other like small kid as they are all adults.They like to make fun of each other and that's the funny part.

On the other hand, I was asked to generate report every week for the weekly meeting. But, my manager somehow has forgot about it.<s>thank god!</s> lol. I don't really like sitting in the office for too many days. Going to the site to walk around is much better than sitting in the office and face the laptop all the time <s>especially when facebook is so boring and there's no one to talk with online</s> But, once I'm glued to the seat, I'm lazy to pick myself up to go to the sites. ugghh

I'm already here for 1 and half month. Can't wait to finish the other 2 months and execute my plan for the next 4 and half month.

p/s: If I manage to enjoy myself for the next two months, I believe that timw will pass very fast. =)

Had the most interesting weekend so far last week this year. Met up with bff last friday and chatted till 1am. Went home and couldn't sleep till 5am. fml. I will never drink tea/coffee at night anymore especially when the following day is a working day!

Had meetup marathon on the third day instead!
It was super duper busy day.
First was with my sixth form classmates =) We had 5 hours of laughter because we are happy people when we get together. lol

First 2 day of CNY

I ate so much for the past 3 days till I felt that I had binge syndrome.
I really need to stop eating from tomorrow onwards in order to get my healthy stomach back. :(
The only regret is that I didn't get to eat my favourite ice kacang because they no longer operate at night. I'm going to get it in March! Nothing can stop me again. hmmpp

I posted her picture four years ago when she's 3 years old. The picture is quite blur because her 2 years old brother took it for her.

Her cute 2 y.o brother. He is very thoughtful. He went to the kitchen to look for his mom's sandal while we were standing outside the pouch barefoot. One cousin-in-law of mine thought that his mom asked him to take it for her but she later found out that it was his own idea because he dont want his mom to go out barefoot. So nice for a 2 y.o. He is very sensitive to camera and he is very generous in giving money too. =)

Lost a friend in a foreign country?

From a backdated draft.

The weather was real bad when I'm about to leave Dalian for Hangzhou. My flight was delayed. for 16 HOURS! I was very mad at the airport or I should say frustrated. The only thing that I'm worried at that time is my travel partner whom I suppose to meet at HZ airport on that day. Her flight will arrive at around 11pm and mine is suppose to arrive 1 hour later. It sounds like a perfect plan for the both of us. We didn't plan anything before that because we plan to stay a night at the airport as there's no transit bus at midnight. Our plan suppose to be perfect. But then, god decide to make it adventurous for us.

Minus the bad weather part. I texted her about the flight delay but there's no reply from her. So, I assume that she got my message. There's one thing about china mobile number, they dont allow us to make international call. As for public phone, they are the worst. You need to get a 100 RMB reload card to make phone calls. grrr.

I texted her again before my flight depart Dalian for real but there was no reply for her. But, I expect her to see her at the arrival hall once I came out from there because that's what we planned. When I step out of the arrival hall, there's no sight of her at all. I searched for her around the arrival hall but there was no sight of her at all. Then, I went up to the departure hall but still there's no sight of her. I called the possible backpacker inn which we discussed earlier but unfortunately my friend didn't check in.

The next thing I did was switch on my laptop and search for her picture. I asked the bus ticket counter if they had seen her before. The lady told me that she was on leave the night before. Hence, I went to the airport reception counter. Do you know what they told me? They said the airport was close after 11pm as there's no flight and no passenger is allowed to stay overnight. fml. Where would my friend go if she's not at the airport? I was damn panic k? I tried to text our friends at Malaysia to ask if she actually came to HangZhou. lol. I get my sister to call her from Malaysia but my sister told me that she couldn't get her as well.

I went to the police station at the airport next. The policeman told me that they couldn't do anything about my missing friend as they can't track passport number. They can only track identity card. =( I even show them my friend's picture in case she was there before. Since they couldn't help me, I wanted to give up after searching hours at the airport. At the same time, I have no idea what to do with the rest of the trip.

Miracle happened when I step out of the police station. I saw my friend sitting in front of me talking to some random people. I was so so so happy. Imagine searching for an hour at the airport but you couldn't get anything and the person just appear in front of you like that? Praise god. We both laughed at our very first adventure. It was an exciting beginning for our 2 weeks trip.

Apparently she got all my message after we met each other. We don't understand why it took such a long time to deliver also. Who knows what happened in between. Oh yeah. She actually ask the flight company when will my flight arrive as she got my first text message. But, they told her that the flight was cancelled due to bad weather and there wont be any flight from Dalian. She thought I won't be there as there was no news from me. I actually flew to HZ via another company as compensation for the previous ticket.

I feel that this beginning is a bit harsh for first timer. lol. But, we learnt our lesson well.

Now you get the whole picture? dramatic kan? ahhahaa
