Food Review: Meet Fresh

If you are crazy about snowflakes, you will be aware that there's a new rival-Meet Fresh in town. It's located at Berjaya Time Square. Meet fresh's menu is the same as Snowflakes with the same pricing and etc. We tried the soya ice series that day.
If you are wondering what is the red controller for, it have the same function as beeping UFO. They are giving out coupons and buy 10 free 1 card with limited redemption period.
We tried the soya ice series with barley and sweet potato. It's different from SF's soya ice series as SF's soya series is made of soya ice while this one, they put a layer of  beancurd on top of the soya ice. Hence, you get to taste both bean curd and soya ice. Honestly, I still prefer Snowflakes' soya ice series as they have more topping and taste better. But, if you prefer to have some bean curd instead of all soya ice, you can try this for sure. The soya ice taste the same but I think it will be better if they are more generous with the toppings. Perhaps they reduce the toppings because of the bean curd.
p/s: I've tried to rotate this picture for a few times but failed.

That's all from me! I'll give more review about this if I happen to dine there again =)

My taste bud is happy.

I had my favourite banana leaf rice and chendol today! I think the last time I had this was last year.
And....I made Khmer dish today! I'm glad that my education from the cooking class is not a waste at all. :)
The next should be mango Salad!

Taufufah in China

IMG_6857
Hi everyone! I'm going to start to write a series of what is interesting in China since some of you request for stories sharing. I dont know where to start. So, I will just talk about what I think is interesting.

As you can see, this is a taufufah. but, its a special taufufah. why ?It is salty but not sweet. You can even add chili sauce into it and make it spicy. But, it is RM 0.50 for a very big bowl. When we first try this food, the waitress asked if we want chili in it and we went "WHAT?" because malaysian taufufah will be sweet for sure. It is indeed one of the interesting food which I had tried so far. :) More to comeee !

The awesome dinner.

What I remember was we were on the bus waiting for it to move so that we can get back to our room and get some nice food to fill our empty stomach.
I've talked to a few Thai and we were planning where to go for dinner after that.
No, the plans didn't work when Audrone show up and todl us that we were the lucky ones because they are letting us to have dinner at PICC. I guess there's too many empty tables left.

We were looking for new friends to sit with until we spot a empty table with 2 Vietanmese there. We greeted them and made some little chats. Then, we found that we were the only 5 people at the table. There's 5 empty seats left. haahaa.. The good thing is we can have all the food to ourselves and the bad thing is there will be so many leftover.

Take a look at the menu :)

In the end, there's 5 bloated people who can't take anymore food.
The guy next to me came out with the idea of introducing us to his friends as Vietnamese after the dinner because he said we look like Vietnam chinese and we went. And the guy actually talk to us in vietnamese language the next day. LOL. My friend was mistaken as a vietnamese when people guess her nationality. I'm happy as I manage to keep my identity as a Malaysian. lol. They took my another friend is from Thailand. It's fun when you ask people to guess your nationality because we look almost the same.
Random facts about Vietname: Autumn is the hot season for wedding. Everyone get married in Autumn because the weather is the best. Hanoi has 4 season but Ho Chi Minh has only 2 season like Malaysia. It's amazing right ?

39-Impromptu trip

It was almost 12 noon.
She told me that she was very boring and I told her there's nothing we can do about it since we were trap in seremban.
Somehow we mentioned about shopping together in this holiday and I told her that I wont be around for a long period.
Then, we have this crazy idea of going to KL an hour later.
It was a crazy plan and we ended up in KL 2 hours later.
We went to Bkt Bintang and I was there one day ago. lol. But, we had fun together. haha..we are the perfect shopping partner I guess. We make each other buy lots of things.
Mua partner in crime. lol

39-Impromptu trip. (20/11/09)
When we were on our way back to the bus stand, we saw people running out of Sg wang and we heard the siren. Noo..they are not running out of the building because there's fire. It is because they want to see what happen outside. sigh..Malaysians. and the rest are happily shopping inside without giving a damn of what is going on outside.

It's already year 2009 ?

Woah..It has been a year! Time flies in year 2008.

Things that I have done in Year 2008.

  • Work in roadshows.

  • Did crazy stuff for some people.

  • Roadtrip to other state.

  • WORST SALES EXPERIENCE back in Levi's.

  • Get into UKM and not getting the course I want.

  • Found really nice friends and an annoying one.

  • Joined AIESEC and then MyLDS. (I'm not done blogging about MyLDS yet)

  • Got hooked to drama, anime and manga.

  • Addicted to facebook.

  • Ate like a pig and gained 5 kg. ohhh crapp !

I have to sit down and think about my new year resolution. New Year Resolution is meant to be achieve, not berangan-angan saje. Maybe next time,ya ?

New Year Eve Celebration.

I know. I know. Like what psw said, there was no celebration in NS this year because our yam Tuan just passed away. With limited friends in Sban and a change in plan, there's nothing much that we can do in this small town.

We went steamboat instead.

We regretted then. We should have gone to Cheras for food. Maybe next time.

Let me present you..........

Ms.Cheh Chai Mee as the cook.

I was peeling the prawn shell.

Ms. Chua Kai Jia as the makan-makan-ambil-gambar girl. Look at her. She look so happy by looking at her crab.

Butter Prawn.

Ms.Cheh's masterpiece.

Ms. Chan joined us later at Lobak then we went to Jia's house. No doubt that we had fun watching somebody gobble up the onion rings.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !

=)

Not your ordinary way of eating oats

It is impossible to cook in hostel as they don't provide stove for us.
When I first enrolled into Ukm, Phoong told me that there's a thing called instant oatmeal and she eat it everyday.
Instant oatmeal ? Just add hot water into the cup and your oat is ready to be serve?
sounds great right ?especially when you are living in a hostel.
Okay, let me show you how to eat your oats in a different way.
First, you need a packet of instant oatmeal.
Second, fill your cup with oats.

Then, add a little amount of water. Stir it.
After that, add one sache of 3-in-1 milo.

and mix it.

Voila !
There you go.
Instead of adding milo, you can add chicken floss.
It's yummy.
Trust me.
p/s:Jangan pandai-pandai add a lot of water for this two recipe because it will taste differently.

The last time I ate McD was two or three months ago ?
Yeah..can't blame me as we don't have McD's outlet in bangi.
sigh sigh sigh
I saw one at Kajang before but Kajang is kind of far from here.

Pesta Konvo UKM 2008

Kai jia is going to love this place.Let me present you the "dataran" for pesta konvo.
KEROPOK LEKOR !
CEMPEDAK ! (Kai Jia, it's cempedak !!)
and...ROOT BEAR !(They charged us RM4 for a cup of rootbear float *uggghhh* but I couldn't resist the temptation..sigh..)
I spent a lot of money in less than an hour there. *sigh* I ate like a pig there and I still have two packets of keropok in my cupboard. hehehee..Food reserve is essential when you live in the hostel. I was too hungry that day and I ended up eating most of the food there. My roommate was like looking at me.I think I did scare her, huh ? hahaha..

Penang- Penang Road

First, Famous Teochew Chendul !

This is everyone's favourite dessert especially Kai Jia.

See the size of the red bean ?

Their ais kacang didn't taste as nice as the one we had the night before.

Second, Loh Bak at the Kopitiam beside the Chendul Stall.

Omg omg! You must must try their Loh Bak. Their Loh Bak taste very very very good !!

Char Kuey Teow @ RM 3.50. (Not as nice as the one we tried the night before)
You have to order drinks from the kopitiam. You can still share with your friends. They will charge RM0.50 extra if you want to order the chendol from the stall outside.
Penang laksa @ RM3. This is very very nice ! This is another must try food at the kopitiam.

The Teochew Chendol is located at the alley opposite the Penang Road Police Station or you can ask the local where is the penang chendol and they will show you the way.
