Of fishballs and me

It's h-o-l-i-d-a-y!
Well, not really a holiday. It's actually stay-at-home-for-studying-and-assignment-week. Phewww
There's only 6 weeks left after this mid sem break. something I'm so not looking forward to it. There's 4 exams and a few submissions waiting for me. Not forget to mention about my lab sessions. Sigh. I wonder if I can start my lab by this semester which I need to do so or else I will get stuck. #fml If you don't know, I'm going to create a new fishball which contain seaweed products. Not the original green colour seaweed which you can get from supermarket. The seaweed suppose to alter the texture of the fishball and make it taste better (better texture and mouthfeel). But the problem is that I couldn't allocate the two most important ingredients. *criessss* There's a series of test which I have to do before this semester ends or else you will see me for another year in UKM. TOUCH WOOD If this happens, I will apply for the one semester exchange programme in South Korea next year. *touch wood touch wood* I must grad on time. I don't know what others think if I were to graduate with my sister. *touch wood* This plan B have to go away, far awayyyyy  No matter how, I must and I will get the source asap. I don't want to spend another year in UKM. I had been through so many obstacles to get this far. You have no idea the total hiccups which happened along the way which can patahkan my semangat just like that. wtf. I'm glad that I have a supervisor who gave me suggestions and solve my issue when I'm in the most critical situation.

Nine more months till I get out of this field forever. My examiner actually suggested me to go for Master programme in the same field. There's no way I'm going to go through the whole miserable thing again.I just want to pack my bags and travel.

The end of Uni nightmare

Nop. I'm not graduating anytime soon. Yesterday was the day we had a major presentation. The preparation was very tiring. We went to print our reports on tuesday night and a drama happened. First, I printed the full report. Then, my friend took the pendrive away because they need some information from it for the packaging and etc. A bunch of malay boys came in and they used the computer which I was using. After that, I wanted to print the appendix and content for our project. I insert the thumbdrive into the computer which I was using, the computer restarted. I tried the other computer and I realize that all files were not there anymore. It means that we cant finish the rest of the report. :( The nightmare continue as the pendrive infected my friend's and my KNU pendrive. fml. However, we get everything done in the morning and we get praised for the job well done. =)

When I was in highschool especially during exam period, people will go around telling everyone that they didnt study for exam and they had to burn the midnight oil every night.
Some even told me how rajin they were dota-ing the night before exam. They make me feel better because all of us are in the same boat and we are at the same level.(although some of them lied but it is still a beautiful lie =])

In university level, people will tell me how many times they memorize their notes before the exam and had studied 3948329482 rounds for the paper. They will remind mehow lazy I am for not memorizing/studying 3435345times before exam. Worst still, they will update their fb status to remind me that I'm not studying hard enough. They will even ask me question before entering the exam hall to show how smart they are.

I prefer then than now. I'm stress.

The final farewell for Year 2009

Joined the others for farewell dinner after soul therapy.

It was the farewell for the 5th batch of Red Interns from the HIV/AIDS project.

Had satay Kajang for dinner and karaoke afterthat. I think satay kajang is overrated because it is expensive not not nice at all. I prefer the seremban one. I guess the people who love satay kajang haven't tasted stay in their life before. =)

All of us get hype up when it comes to certain songs and damn we had fun! I've learned from the previous karaoke session with the interns. No excessive screaming and shouting for me this time. I lost my voice for few days last time and I dont want the same thing to happen to me again.

To Arthur ! My first intern for the project. I bet most of you had met him in my birthday party last month right ?He's leaving end of this month already but i'm not sure if I have the chance to say good by since I'm having exam on that day.

Rowena, the 19 years old girl from Hong Kong !

Raisa, the bubbly girl from Indonesia. They told me that she can shop a lot and she can sing like Rihanna and beyonce! Love her voice so much !

I'm awake

from my dream.
It is time to come back to the cruel world.
I dont know what is awaiting me out there, or tomorrow.

I might/might not have a presentation tomorrow.
And the best thing is we haven't done our presentation proposal or write our script for the presentation(It is suppose to be a drama).
I swear that it is not last minute work. We knew that the presentation was after the break but we didn't know that we are the lucky first few group to present. Dooommed. I can imagine how dead are we going to be tomorrow.
Another good news is that we have no idea of what to present. This course is called keusahawanan sains dan teknologi. By looking at the name itself, we all know that it is lame and good-for-nothing. They create it for the sake of torturing us and earning our tuition fees.

My holiday ended pretty well with a dim sum breakfast with chee yang and phoong. I was craving for it and glad that I get to eat it :):)

Everyone is back to where they are suppose to be now and some are going to be where they are going to be soon.

All the best people and let's endure this pain together.

We shall meet again in 2 months time. :)

Farewell dinner at House of Pancakes.

Was thinking if I should go because I have exam on Saturday and I didn't touch the notes at all before that. Come to think that I'm not be able to meet Amna and Aiza again, I went with the rest of the local aiesecer. The interns were there earlier because they went straight after their workshop. Aiza told us about the outreach programme. They followed the PT foundation people to distribute condoms to the sex workers in Chow Kit. It was a new experience for them and they love it very much. My friends were saying that they want to give it a try if they have a chance to do so.

Had subway on friday. Guess what ?I had 3 subway sandwich in the same week. lol.

I have stories to share on wednesday.

Next time perhaps ?I should start taking a picture a day. grrrr

Of alcohols and country presentation

Had country presentation by the red interns on monday and tuesday.

The main purpose of country presentation is to get to know their country better.

I didnt stay long on the first day but I'm glad that I made it yesterday night.

We had finnish food and drinks (including alcohol). :)

Meri was pouring the finnish drink for all of us. It tasted like chocolate with a little bit of mint and alcohol inside. Not bad though.

Then, ginger biscuit from Finland also.
Meri taught us the traditional finnish dance and Hyun Mi taught us the modern korean dance. It was pretty fun :)
Sharing session (the Canadian style- if I'm not mistaken). The trick is pass the alcohol by using your left hand and you can only hold it with your left hand. After you talk, you can choose to drink or just pass it to the person next to you. After you pass it to the person next to you, both of you need to shout "huaaahh!". But never pass it using your right hand because you will have to drink the whole bottle if you do so. Good news for alcoholic huh ?

We also had a suprise birthday celebration for our intern from Sweden.

The First AG

I've officially abandoned Project 365. I have decide to put in on hold at the moment. Will start updating it once I got the mood to take pictures and update it. :)

Last Wednesday was the first Aiesec Gathering held by UKM.
Many juniors turn up despite the heavy rain. *happy*

This is Meri, our TRP's intern from Finland. She's a very very nice girl but she's leaving soon. :(

Part of the Managing Team with our returning EP, kathy. She just came back from Hungary. She bought some chocolates back from Hungary for us. Unfortunately, she gave it to the 2 big-eaters and they ate it and left no chocolates for us :(

Wassup everyone ?

I MIA-ed for 2 weeks already.

I even abandoned my project 365.

I have no picture no summarize my day but only a word-report.

Writing 4 reports a week is preventing me from updating my blog.

Attending labs and writing report is not my cup of tea.

I wish August will end soon as I will end two labs by then

but mid sem starts next week.

Sigh.I wish I have an extra 12 hours per day.

Will revive my blog soon with a picture post!

I went back to sban on friday.

Sis complained that I didn't talk to her anymore because I spent too much time on the computer screen.

As the result, she talked to herself and she pretended as if flora was talking to her. T____T

She asked why am I not updating my blog anymore. and she asked what happen to my project 365.

sigh. me is such a bad sister.

To compensate her, I will try to update my project 365 provided that I have the time to do so :)

Fiy, I had 3 labs last week, one after another.

Going to lab is not a pain anymore.

The worst is getting the report done.

I spent around 3 hours plus to get my food analysis report done. T___T

My food microbiology's report is lefted undone because I'm still waiting for other group's result.

It's only the 4th week of my new semester and I'm not looking forward towards it at all.

Just hope that everything will get back better from week to week.

This week is not good because I have activities this sat and sun.

I transformed myself to hercules and carried the bridge linking the Petronas Twin Tower.

Flashing back

My classes,lectures and labs ended yesterday!


I told Wei Lin that time flied and here come the end of our first year in UKM.
Wei Lin said our first year will offcially end only after our final exams. :(
I remembered everything that happened before entering UKM.
I did a lot of shopping with Chai Mee. We bought almost everything together.
I remember bidding goodbye to wye lyng but I still see her everyday before orientation week.
Ohh..how could I forget the Ultimate Penang Trip ?

I remember that I hated food science and nutrition to the max after one week in Uni.

I wrote a letter and submitted the letter to the my dean.
But, I didn't submit the letter to the another dean(of another faculty) at last.
I'm glad that I choose to stay because everything will be so different now.
A lot of things happened throughout the year.
Bonds were formed and broken among friends.
Some friendship grew even stronger. :)
I guess that always happen in life.
We are broading on the train to a destination but some choose to get down earlier because they are not heading to the same destination as I am.
However, there's new passenger at every stop who want to be in the same train as I am.

It's fun to have this bunch of friends in college. They are the one who make me feel like I belong there at the first place.

Oh yeah..I went cheras pasar malam two days ago! It's only a 20 minutes drive to Cheras? The EYLNers went there together with the interns! It was super duper fun,k ? We stuffed ourselves with a lot of good food and we agreed that we won't go back there anytime soon.
I have seen so much in my first year. I couldn't wait to see what is awaiting me in the next three years.
Well..well..This year is a good year.

Life is like a roller coaster ride.

I won't be able to see the whole process of it until I reach my destination.

I'm very busy this semester before I realise that next week is the last week of this semester. :(
The problem is I'm not even ready for the final exam yet. :(

This week have been a very interesting week.
First, I met a friend from Philipines and we have became very good friend.
Secondly, I went to a buffet dinner that offer not enough food for the people there.
I saw a lot of people lined up at the ais kacang counter in order to fill their stomach.
Thirdly, my japanese intern came to Malaysia. He is cute !
Marie and I were waiting for him at the arrival hall. There was a lot of Asian coming out from the arrival hall at that time. Since Marie didn't see Taka's picture before she went to the airport, she started guess. We joked a lot at the time and we missed Taka. Luckily, he is smart enough to borrow a phone from the local to call me.You will understand why we didn't notice him soon.
Then, a german called me all the way from germany yesterday to ask me if he can do internship for EYLN.
I complained about how @ take most of my time this semester sometimes.
But, I'm very greedy at the same time.
I want to learn as much as I can. I want to challenge my limit.
I believe that I will have interesting stories to tell in the future.

The best part is

my hardwork is paid off with

this !

Field Trip to Mersing

I was forced to go Mersing last weekend for my co-curriculum subject. It's compulsory as it carry 40% of my final exam. T__T

It suppose to be a pembersihan pantai project but the villagers change it to their project. The pembersihan pantai is only a small part of their project. The muslim students had prayers, parade and a lot of things to do. The non-muslim students just eat and sleep through the weekend. When I was in the room, I sleep like nobody business. When I stepped out of the chalet, I ate like a pig. very relax right?

Back to the activities, my chalet mates and I went kepoh-ing during the masak bubur lambuk session. I'm glad that I was there! It was super duper fun! And the bubur lambuk taste awesome!
They used ikan kembung, pucuk paku(a kind of paku-pakis), black pepper and salt.
During the preperation process..

Bubur lambuk! The malay aunties asked me to give a try. I stirred the porridge with the wood thingy and it was very heavy. After ten minutes, one Malay aunty couldn't stand me and she took the thing away from me. :(
I ate 3 bowls of bubur lambuk until the ketua kampung and my lecturer can recognized my face. My roommate did the same thing too! lol

Transition camp 28/2/09-1/3/09

It was held at Port Dickson. We stayed in a very nice place and the beach is just right in front of us. :)
You might wondering what kind of transition camp is that ? Well, it is a camp held by the seniors to transit their knowledge to us so that we are well prepared for the next term.

Since, it is a transition camp, we have lots of discussion in just two days. There's powerpoint presentation, debate and team building sessions.



Part of the team building session. We were divided into 2 groups and we were asked to send two strongest team member out without knowing that we have to carry them. It was fun because my group won the game. :)



Another team building game.8 people in 4 chairs. We have to keep passing the chair in order to get to the final destination. Barbeque night ! This is something new for all of us because we were told to barbeque french roll. It was delicious and maybe we should try it again in our next barbeque gathering. :)



How could we forget to campak-orang-ke-dalam-laut? 5 guys and 3 girls went in to the sea and the rest just stay at the beach. However, these 8 people got gatal and they begin to drag the rest into the sea.

Everyone is running for their life ! I'm glad that my stamina is not that bad. At least, I manage to run very fast and not being caught by them.

Yi Ni, got sent to the sea. See how they carry the victim ? They will carry you like that and just throw you into the sea.Oooucchh !
